NOMINATION NOTICE (Corrected)

New Haven Federation of Teachers, Local 933

Nominations for the offices of President, Vice President, Executive Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President for High Schools, Vice-President for Middle Schools

(6-8), Vice-President for Elementary Schools (PK-5), Vice-President for Special Services, Twelve (12) Executive Board Members: Three (3) from High School, Seven (7) from PreK-8 School, Two (2) from Special Services, Five (5)Trustee Council Members, and Fifteen (15) Delegates to national and state conventions and Central Labor Council will be accepted from the floor at the October 2009 membership meeting at the date, time, and place indicated below. The term of office will run for three years beginning January 1, 2010. Candidates elected as President and Vice President will also serve as voting delegates to all national and state conventions.

Nominations may also be made in writing and must be received by Head Trustee Nancy Blackwell-Todd at the New Haven Federation Office, 267 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT 06513 no later than 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2009.

As provided in the Local 933 Bylaws, any member who is in good standing of the Federation with uninterrupted membership for at least one (1) year as of the date of their nomination, except for membership of the Trustee Council, where three (3) years of uninterrupted membership will be required, is eligible to nominate candidates and run for office.

Candidates must accept nomination at the nomination meeting or, if not in attendance, submit a written acceptance to Head Trustee Nancy Blackwell-Todd at the New Haven Federation Office, 267 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT 06513 no later than 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2009.

The election will be conducted on Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Additional information regarding the election will be provided in a separate notice which will be mailed to all Local 933 members at a later date.
